Since the start of 2018, there have been 4,976 fires. Now as we know, some fires are caused by hot spells, dry spells, wind, and so on. But, according to Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, 85% of these fires are started by humans. All together, 629,000 acres of land have been burned by wild fires, and and Silver Oaks National Park itself lost 72,000 acres to last summer's wildfire. This is damaging not only to the environment, but to animals as well. Animals lose their homes, and sometimes even go extinct. Being homeless due to fires is also happening to thousands of people spread out along these acres.
So you might be wondering, what can we do? We need your financial help to restore the park. Learn more here
